My Background
Hi! My name is Rachel Clavelle and I have been teaching piano lessons for over fifteen years.

I'm so excited to meet you and help your child learn all about piano music--from history to composing, to playing the classics and new songs..and everything in between, of course!

Growing up, my mom was a piano teacher so I basically started playing piano before I could walk! I took lessons from my mom until I was more interested in doing backflips off the piano bench than listening to her. We decided it was time for a different teacher, which was the best decision we could have made! I enjoyed every lesson I took and she definitely contributed to the teacher I am today! I participated in yearly contests and won "best of center" for my piano solo when I was a senior in high school. I then went on to win best pianist in Iowa and was honored to play in front of the Governor of Iowa.

I received a piano scholarship to Wartburg College and studied under Dr. Suzanne Torkelson. I also took college-level piano pedagogy, literature, and theory classes. I am currently a member of Vibrant Music Teachers and am a lifelong learner attending seminars and conferences.

Today I enjoy sharing my passion for playing the piano by performing and teaching young students. Please inquire below for lessons or special event music.
