88 Keys Piano Studio Policies & Info
-
Lessons are for students who have an interest in learning music and can practice on a regular basis on a well-maintained acoustic piano or full-sized (88 keys) digital piano. Acoustic pianos should be tuned a minimum of once a year.
-
Students are expected to practice regularly and show up to each lesson prepared.
-
Tuition is due by the 1st of the month, each month. Bills will be sent out prior to this. A 10% late fee will be incurred if tuition is not paid by the 1st of each month.
-
The teacher will buy all materials the student needs and add them to the monthly tuition bill.
-
Students are expected to arrive for lessons on time with all of their materials and music. If the teacher is late, we will make up that time. If the student is late, we will end at the regularly scheduled end time.
-
Fingernails should be kept clean and trimmed short. No gel, acrylic, or other type of fake nails are allowed. If a student shows up to a lesson with fake or long nails, the lesson will not be given and a make-up lesson or credit will not be provided.
-
Two recitals are held each year (December and Spring). Students are encouraged to participate. To help students prepare for these events, informal gatherings called Piano Workshops are held occasionally on Saturdays or Sundays throughout the year.

Missed Lessons: Cancellations must be received 24 hours in advance. Due to the teacher’s limited availability, rescheduling lessons cannot be guaranteed. A makeup or online lesson will try to be scheduled during the week of the missed lesson, but if a time cannot be reached a credit will not be given and a video lesson will be sent. Due to inclement weather, lessons will switch to online vs. in-person. If your child or anyone else in the household is sick, please alert the teacher and we will have an online lesson that week.
